TCDD Teknik, which started its operations in 2018 as a subsidiary of the Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD), Türksat and Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, develops projects with the strength it draws from TCDD's 168-year historical tradition. TCDD Teknik implemented its first design, first consultancy, first project and first training activities in 2019. In the following years, the company built its engineering and technology capacity and took the projects one step further. Underlining that TCDD Teknik will be the leading engineering company in its region with its 2028 vision, General Manager Mustafa Özdöner stated that the company adds value to the Turkish transportation sector with the projects it carries out. “WE WORK FOR RAILWAYS SAFETY”
Özdöner, who said that TCDD Teknik is working with TÜBİTAK Rute for the domestic and national production of the Railway Automatic Train Stopping System (ATS), continued his words as follows: "In order to maximize safety in railways, we have first completed the development and dissemination of ground magnets used on the line, and now we are developing the device to be used on the vehicle with TÜBİTAK RUTE. Our tests continue. In addition, TCDD Teknik engineers The safety of the rails is increased to the highest level with the Iron Eye developed by Demir Göz, an ultrasonic device that can detect cracks in the rails. Rail cracks and defects in conventional lines are detected quickly and the maintenance and repair works carried out accordingly ensure the healthy operation of the lines. In addition, by mounting the measurement equipment we procure from abroad on the railbus, expert experts periodically measure the track geometry, rail undulation, rail profile, equivalent taper and catenary line parameters. We realize it with our staff.”
LOCAL MAINTENANCE SERVICE IN SIGNALING AND RAIL SYSTEM VEHICLES
TCDD Technical General Manager Mustafa Özdöner mentioned that a holistic signaling action plan study has been carried out for TCDD railway network signaling systems in line with the aims of reducing travel times on TCDD railway lines, increasing traffic safety, using existing road capacities effectively and efficiently, increasing mobility, and using domestic resources and facilities more effectively in signaling. Özdöner said: "In this context, taking into account the new developments in Turkey and the world, the Railway Signalization Action Plan aims to put forward the necessary strategies and methods by being prepared with broad stakeholder participation in order to be a road map for the studies on railway signaling in the short, medium and long term. As TCDD Technical, we are currently carrying out signaling systems maintenance projects, including the lines located in the area of TCDD Regional Directorates. In addition, the main line in TCDD Taşımacılık A.Ş. maintenance workshops We carry out the maintenance of the locomotives' body lubrication, camera and camera systems and ERTMS on-board equipment. In line with the national and localization initiative, the fault response and maintenance processes of the National Electric Train Sets produced by TÜRASAŞ are also provided by the expert teams we have trained. With our maintenance projects, our expert technical team has a large share. We are based on a holistic approach in the field of railways and approximately 100 people in the field of railway vehicles. We offer services throughout Türkiye and we are one of the largest companies in this field.
“WE DEVELOP R&D PROJECTS”
“Within the scope of TCDD's cooperation with TÜBİTAK Rail Transportation Technologies Institute (TÜBİTAK RUTE), studies are being carried out to implement the Domestic and National Automatic Train Inspection Station (OTMI) Development Project. In order to carry out automatic inspections of various types of vehicles in the TCDD park while moving (dynamically) within certain speed limits, measurement and recognition systems that form the dynamic train inspection station are being developed. We will take an active role in a series of operations from the installation phase of the Mini OTMİ project to maintenance and repair activities. In addition, our work on the development of under-rail monitoring systems and their implementation along the entire line continues at full speed.”
“WE ARE ONE OF THE LEADING COMPANIES IN THE FIELD OF URBAN TRANSPORTATION”
“We are moving current projects forward by setting new targets in urban transportation. We take an active role in the maintenance works on Başkentray, İzban, Marmaray and Gayrettepe - Airport lines. We carry out successful work in this field by providing services with 60 engineers and 280 technicians, including signaling, communication, electrification, vehicle, line and facility maintenance.
